Resistance Band Upright Row

The resistance band upright row targets the traps and lateral delts with a joint-friendly band instead of a loaded barbell. Stand on the band and pull the handles up to chin height with elbows leading.

How to Perform

1

Stand on the band with feet hip-width apart and grip the band with hands close together.

2

Pull the band straight up along your body, leading with the elbows.

3

Raise until your elbows are at or above shoulder height.

4

Lower with control and avoid letting the band snap back.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

Raising the handles too high above the elbows, which internally rotates the shoulders.

Leaning back to cheat the band up.

Using a grip that is too wide, which limits trap activation.
