Kettlebell Push-Up

The kettlebell push-up uses kettlebells as handles to increase range of motion and wrist comfort during push-ups. Grip the handles and lower your chest below handle height for a deeper stretch than standard push-ups allow.

How to Perform

1

Place two kettlebells shoulder-width apart and grip the handles firmly.

2

Set up in a push-up position with your body in a straight line.

3

Lower your chest below the handles for a deep stretch across the pecs.

4

Press back up to full arm extension, squeezing the chest at the top.

5

Keep your core tight and avoid sagging hips.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

Not using the extra range of motion — lower past the handles for the full benefit.

Using kettlebells that are unstable and wobbling during the movement.

Flaring the elbows wide instead of keeping them at 45 degrees.
