Svend Press
The Svend press is an isolation movement where you squeeze two plates together and press them forward from your chest. It creates intense isometric chest activation and is excellent for developing a mind-muscle connection.
How to Perform
Hold two light plates squeezed together at chest height with palms pressing inward.
Press the plates straight out in front of you until arms are fully extended.
Squeeze the plates together as hard as possible throughout the entire range of motion.
Pull the plates back to your chest slowly, maintaining constant inward pressure.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
Using plates that are too heavy, which shifts the effort to the shoulders and forearms.
Letting the squeeze relax at any point during the rep, which removes chest engagement.
Pressing at an upward angle instead of straight forward, turning it into a front raise.
